What are Dermatologists?
Medical experts that deal with significant problems with skin are called dermatologists. Dermatologists specialize in dermatology, which is a branch of medical science that is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails.

According to the New Zealand Dermatological Society Incorporated's definition:
Dermatology covers study, research, and diagnosis of diseases, disorders, cancers, cosmetic, and aging conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. It also covers the management of these by different research and therapies, including but not limited to, topical and systemic medications, dermatohistopathology, immunotherapy, laser therapy, radiotherapy, phototherapy, dermatologic surgery, dermatologic cosmetic surgery, and photodynamic therapy.  

Facts About Skin
     The skin acts as a barrier to protect the body from injury, bacteria, and other foreign objects.
     It is the largest and most superficial organ of the body.
     It reveals the health of the body
     15% of patients complain about skin problems to their general practitioner or family doctor.

     Hand dermatitis, which affects mostly women, and results from external contact with detergents and household chemicals

Responsibilities and Duties of a Dermatologist
     Attend patients in hospitals
     Attend patients in private practices or in their own homes
     Act as a consultant to other specialists
     Understand biochemistry, microbiology, physics, pathology, endocrinology, and physiology, as skin conditions can often be associated with other underlying conditions.
     This will help them with their consultant work
